Waiting to link with our partner school

This is a new thing for me and a new link for our school. I haven't managed to make contact with them before leaving but I hope that our contact will be good and that afterwards we will stay in touch.

I've never been to the UK before and I'm frightened about the weather...

Getting ready for the visit

We're getting ready for the visit. We've made presentations about our school. We hope that our school twinning links will be stronger after the visit.

The one thing I am worried about is the journey which is not just long but complicated as we have to pass Israeli checkpoints and the Israelis at the border.

Looking forward to the visit

I'm really looking forward to this visit. I think it's going to be really good. I'm in touch with people in my twinning partner, Tower Hamlets. I'm looking forward to visiting my partner school and other schools in that borough.  I'm looking forward to comparing our curricula.  The good outcome for me will be to get the young people from the two countries in touch with each other.

I'm not really looking forward to bad weather.

I remember going to Spain a few years ago and it was hard in one of the meetings to be attacked by Zionists who didn't want me to say what is happening here. I want to be able to talk about my country and don't want the same thing to happen.

Recently, we had a celebration in my school for Human Rights Day - I'll send you some photos to add to the blog.

A happy new year to all of you!

Wishing everyone involved in the Teachers in Action project a very happy 2016. We hope it will be for everyone a better year than 2015!

For all of us who are part of this project, the new year and the new school term will immediately be followed by the visit to the UK by teachers from Palestine. In a week's time they will be on their way!  Here in the UK, we are looking forward to seeing our new Palestinian friends and wish them a good journey.  We wish the UK teachers and schools a good time too!

Also for UK friends who are not immediately part of the project - please put the teachers' events into your new diaries... These include...

Local NUT meetings and events by local Britain-Palestine twinning groups in the places below and the conference on School Twinning with Palestine on Saturday 17th January.

Look out for the visiting teachers in

CHESTER - KNIGHTON - NORTHAMPTON - LLANIDLOES - PENDLE - LIVERPOOL - HACKNEY - TOWER HAMLETS - CAMDEN
