Meeting in London
Nice to meet some of the teachers travelling on the #CADFA #teachersinaction visit to Palestine. Here are some of the reasons they want to join the exchange:
I want to see what it's really like on the ground in Palestine.
I want to see how young people make sense of the situation. .. why do they go to school?!
I want to see how the situation is explained to them in school. What sort of political education do they get?
I want to set up the lol between my school and a Palestinian Ian school (it's got a bit weak!)
I'm interested in making our students aware of wider issues and to show them you CAN have a positive impact on the world
I want to come back with stories, issues, personal contacts
I'm interested in return visits (Palestinians coming to Britain)
I'M INTERESTED IN Palestine and its history
And how students see their future....

School year starts in Palestine and the UK... and the teachers' visit to Palestine is soon!
In CADFA (we've had 4 visits to Palestine and one to the UK in that space of time! See twinninginaction.blogspot.co.uk). T
Now we're looking forward to the return visit of the Teachers in Action project, at the end of October when the UK teachers have a holiday. Some of the UK teachers involved in the January visit will be among the group travelling to Palestine - hoping to see all of our old friends!!
Here is a picture from the January conference showing Adnan, headteacher from Assawiya, Kevin who is now the General Secretary of the NUT and Una, a Camden teacher, Chair of Camden NUT and a CADFA trustee.

Preparing for the return visit!
It's exciting to see the applications coming in for the return visit of UK teachers travelling to Palestine in October. This is the other side of the Palestinian visit to the UK and will take 14 teachers to see Palestine and visit their partner schools. We're happy that there will be teachers from all the partner places involved in January but we do currently have some places left (perhaps there will be a rush at the beginning of September?) so we do welcome applications for these.
This picture has not much to do with it! It is a teachers' strike picture from earlier in the year in Palestine...
